Interview went very good, it's more than just a review of skills. I knew his skills, and they weren't necessarily exactly what I need, but I know he is the kind who will learn what he needs in order to lead the team, and is an excellent leader.
It's more about me inquiring on where he is in his life and his career and is this interesting to him? Because if so, the tasks will handle themselves. But a startup is a unique type of role - it's not corporate - sometimes you have to sweep the floor and empty the trash cans and come in at 2am when there's no one else to do it.
And if someone is comfortable where they are, they won't be a good fit.
As it was, what I was pitching was exactly what he was looking for. This will be good.
