I injured my should pretty badly a few months back, when I was doing some new acro yoga moves π€ΈββοΈ and it's taken a long time to heal again. It's not entirely pain free still, but it's already so much better than it was π
So today I tried for the first time again, to do a handstand! As you can see I kind of suck at handstands (I was only just starting to learn how to do one before I injured my shoulder) but I was able to do it without my shoulder flaring up in pain, which is such an immense improvement! π
I am going to start doing one or two of these a day again and very very slowly and extra carefully build up strength again... πͺ
I've missed moving my body without restrictions...
What most of you probably don't know is that I come from an ashtanga yoga background. My mother is a teacher and I grew up doing it and this was the first time in my life I wasn't able to practice that at all.

Today I had another shoot with Jan bleeker. We went to this little river where I played with some flowy white fabrics, which looked gorgeous in the flowing water. We also photographed some washing scenes... And got caught by hikers a few times haha but luckily no one felt bothered by it or said anything
It felt wonderful to get wet, after these last few very hot days.

I've been really enjoying the sun! And also these light flowy clothes... β
Today one of my best friends is coming to visit me for a few days π she herself will stay private and anonymous but I'm hoping that she will also try photographing me sometime. She has never done that before but I feel like she would have a good eye for this, since she is very creative herself...
And on Thursday I'm holding a little women's circle where @breatheart2 (π Instagram) and another one of my friends, Mabel (if you have seen my photography Instagram you might have seen some images of her) will be joining us.
The intention is to create together and share some ideas and thoughts and cook a nice dinner or something like that.
I'm really looking forward to that and am going to see what content we will create and what I can share with you guys π

Is it just me or does it sometimes feel really good to lie in weird positions on furniture?
I remember doing this as a kid, but I guess I just never grew out of it π

I have really been needing to challenge myself to find things that still feel fresh and new, even though I keep using the same spot... I think I am learning a lot from it because it pushes my creativity and problem solving skills. And then when I do use a different space, I feel I can look at it much differently and openly.

I took this image a little while back and had posted it to instagram but it unfortunately got taken down in a matter of seconds...
So it makes me so happy that I can share it here now! I find that theres this incredible beauty in how simple it is. In how you can see my skin texture and 'imperfections'... I think it would look really wonderful as a print. What do you think? Would you hang it on your wall?
If I actually had a place to hang art, this would be amongst the first images I would hang...
In general if you are ever interested, I do sell prints of my self portraits or anything that was taken by my partner @bad.buddha.photography (you can find him on instagram)

I am happy with what we created on this shoot :) Although my personal images are more abstract (at least thats how I perceive them) I appreciate these classical images that highlight a simple beauty and harmony with nature <3

This is the first time for me making a video like this so bear with me...
I also want to mention that it's a very honest and rare view into my work, since I normally don't share images that I'm not at least to some degree happy with.
Let me know your thoughts β

Went out to take some self portraits today. I didn't end up taking very many and except for this one I am actually not happy with them, but I think those are the experiences that we learn from. I also recorded a couple of videos in between and want to cut it together with said images to give you an idea of the process...
Outdoor self portraiture is a field that I feel I still need to improve and relax in...

I'd say if you want to be a model you have to have a lot of patience. Because a big part of it means waiting, while lights are adjusted and set up, maybe the backdrop needs to be changed, the settings on the camera have to be right and so on and so on...
Especially with photographers that might still be honing their skills or trying out a new technique, there will always be a lot of waiting time. And don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, but I do think it's interesting to see that and have access to what goes on behind the images that you end up seeing π
Also is it just me or do you find it interesting to see how my demeanor changes between waiting and posing?
I've heard from some photographers, that something they really appreciate about working with me, is that I can just turn it on so to say, from one moment to another and have the desired intensity and expressiveness for the images.
I know this particular video might not be very exciting, but would you like to see more bts videos from this shoot? The original video is quite long, so that's why I cut it down to this...
Also sorry π for all these questions but would any of you be interested in me recording or doing a live stream of me taking self portraits?
I don't know, if I would narrate very much but if you guys want to send me some questions or topics you'd like me to talk about, I could incorporate that π let me know π

I think, this is the only other time I ever experimented with long exposure and it was still only really early on in my exploration, of self portraiture (how much has changed...)
I definitely would not consider these very good or anything worth putting into my portfolio, but I thought it might be interesting for you to see more of the process and development that I have made in the past year since I started all of this... And also some of the projects and image sets that I have never really shown publicly.
Do you find that interesting? Or would you rather only see the more polished and refined stuff?

From the archives... I know these are kind of random but I came across them earlier and thought it would be fun to share them because I don't think I ever have before...
Long exposure is definitely a theme that I havent done much with yet and certainly want to explore much more. I find it fascinating to capture movement in images and using a longer exposure can be really interesting for that

The first plate we made :) I think we redid this particular image 6 times, changing light and posture slightly every time... Its a very slow process in general, we worked about 6 hours and i think we got 11 or 12 images...

Today's shoot with Barrie Hullegie spontaneously ventured outside, after we shot some stuff in the studio first. We ended up exploring an area where the Germans built barracks in world War II and found a ton of bunkers!
After yesterday being so hot, this wind was very refreshing π

I am so excited for my next shoot! Tomorrow I will get to pose for some Collodion wet plate photographs for the first time! :)
I always enjoy doing analoge photographs, because you have to slow waaay down and it feels like those images are taken with a lot more awareness and mindfulness.
Although in general I would say that posing can really calm me and makes me feel "zen" it happens even more so with analoge photography. So I am really curious to see what the experience will be with the collodion wet plate photography, since that process is even slower...
Are you as excited as I am?

From my first shoot with @bayek_photography
Bayek and I have spoken many times about organizing a holiday/trip for photographers, where we would bring along maybe one or two other models and rent out a villa in the mediterranean somewhere... Especially now after the quarantine that seems like such an appealing idea to me...

A few more from the webcam shoot with my friend.
Did you know I am going to start doing shoots again soon? I already have the first week of June booked full and several more after that, so you can look forward to some more varied and new content! :)
I will also have two shoots together with another model called Emma (@riel.life on instagram) during one of the shoots we will get body painted! Thats really something I am looking forward to and I am hoping to get lots of BTS pictures and videos from it. Would you guys like seeing a time-lapse for example of us getting painted?
I am always open for suggestions and things you'd like to see so feel free to talk to me about it :)

From a fun spontaneous webcam shoot with one of my best friends. She had never actually done anything like this... She hasn't even photographed me in person yet, but we were talking on the phone and she wanted to try it, so we did. What do you think? Do you love watermelons as much as I do?
