When I was 22 or 23 I created a brand / alter ego that was all about expressing myself and my sexuality in bold, confident, pop arty visuals, art and text. I had so much fun with it. There was even an exhibition in a Berlin gallery. And of course there was the book. Then the experience of writing a very personal book, having it published and being in the uncontrollable public eye overwhelmed me so much that I completely stopped creating and withdrew back into the safety of an anonymous lifestyle. I began Sofia Miles and this new chapter with all the experiences and adventures kept me busy and happy and that was that. One of the great benefits those past few months of quarantine have brought is it put me back in touch with my artist, creating self. Without the jetting around, running through cities and being the entertaining, chatty life of the (dinner) party there is time and space for that other me again. For going inward, dreaming, feeling and letting creativity do it’s trippy magic so it can be expressed outward for others to see, feel, hear and enjoy. I have missed that immensely and I feel everything is happening for a reason. In the end everything always falls into place and somehow life always takes you exactly to where you should be at any given moment.

I took these snaps a year ago (you can tell, my hair is much longer and a little darker right now) but I want to share them abyway because I was so exceptionally happy that day and it feels good to look at them. (I hope you agree). I had just gotten back from a long weekend trip (I think it was France?) and found this little „outfit“ in the mail. I have a friend who makes those tiny, skimpy, colorful items of flattering nothingness and she said she had me in mind when designing this particular style. Cute, right?

Today I am shooting what I hope will be a very beautiful, sun drenched nude photoset in front of my new, ever growing plant collection. Okay, not completely nude. I am wearing my Miu Miu heels. The sun is hitting my living room in this very particular special 3pm-in-May-way and I am feeling a rush of happiness, finally feeling like myself again, energy and sex and creativity flowing freely. So good. I am already sans clothes, all coconut oil-ed up and ready to take some pictures but gold on red velvet just looks too pretty, especially in the sun. Also I just love my feet! I really do (for many many reasons). So let's give them their five minutes of fame before my body takes over centre stage again.
