My girls are still doing good. I’m excited for when they are milking. Alpines can produce up to 2 gallons of milk per day. That’s a lot of milk in one day.

That’s my big main rooster. He’s come to the point where he is very scary and try’s to attack anytime he can. I don’t know how much longer I’ll keep him around. I’m having to do chores differently because of him. He’s getting out and he follows you and try’s to get as close as possible and if you make any sudden moves or moves in away he doesn’t like he tries to get you. He’s a good boy and he likes his hens so I don’t want to take him away. But when he’s following me around outside of his area that I don’t think is very cool.

This is one of my roosters. He’s super cute and pretty friendly. Hes a good protector of the hens and I love his little mohawk. Hes a mixed breed of chicken, so he’s definitely one of a kind

My one girl duck is laying pretty good since she started. I think she has laid better than the chickens and the quail so far.

Cuko and rue were my helpers today. They followed me around when I did all the chores. Cuko loves to follow around rue likes to follow but also play with tuck the whole time she does. They both were able to stay still for a second for me to get a picture.

I’m glad the animals handle the weather better than me. It’s super cold out and will only get colder now. My favorite thing to do right now is come inside to a nice cup of something warm when I’m done doing chores and I think I will continue to do that. It makes it better.

This is how the girls eat everyday. I love how it sounds. They are so cute. They have there winter coats and are packing the pounds. They are suppose to get a lot bigger but they seem to grow slow.

Lisa has been doing really good lately. She’s super cute and the sweetest goat I own next to ned. They are both the sweetest. No head butting signs from them ever. Both Marge and Homer have like done it in the air close to me for no apparent reason so it worries me. I don’t quite know goat body language but it felt like a threat. It’s only happened once for both of them but still scary with homers horns.

Quail are definitely the favorite animal I own. They lay the cutest eggs. Don’t make to much noise. They are super friendly and seems like they like you back.

Put up some of a snow fence today. It went really well. My main reason is because my driveway gets huge drifts of snow all winter long. Where they are as tall as me. I’m hoping this will help a little.

Some how Ned got out today. I decided to spend the opportunity to get some time alone with him. He’s super sweet and loves pets. He was super good and easy to put back. How he got out is a mystery, I’ll have to wait to see if he does it again and figure out how if he is. Homer didn’t get out.

This is Rue again. She is such a good girl. My favorite thing recently is playing fetch with all the dogs. I haven’t ever done it with all of them before but it’s been going really well. Only 2 dogs usually get the frisbee the others just run back and forth hoping to maybe get it one day. Rue is one of the dogs that gets the frisbee and is the only one who returns it nicely.

Chickens molt feathers. A few of my big hens have started at the worst time. Before winter. I’m worried they won’t come in before it gets to cold out. They seems to be growing them instantly though. But they look a little funky and ugly.

Ned is still doing great. Both him and Homer are getting bigger everyday still. I think all summer I’m going to be using them as my lawn mower. They did a lot better of a job and it fills there bellies.

I love the variety of my chickens. This one I personally don’t know to well. It sticks to its little group and is a little skiddish around humans. Super pretty hen though she isn’t laying eggs yet, still to little. But within the next few weeks I’m assuming she’ll start laying.

I love my ducks. Still middle of November playing in the water :) this is my first winter living here it hasn’t snowed like basically at all yet. I hope all winter is like this. Lol it won’t be but maybe it’ll be more mild we’ll see.

This is Zelma. She is the prettiest and sweetest cat I have. She has a very pretty colored nose. She is practically the perfect cat. She doesn’t bug you ever. She sometimes sleeps with you but not overbearing when she does. She has the cutest meow and is always with her boyfriend bart they are a cute duo.

My red chicks I hatched are doing good and some have started roosting up on the roosts. They are getting bigger everyday. I’m excited to see how they’ll look full grown. Should be very pretty red chickens.

This is Theo. He is drogons brother. He is the oldest cat I have. He loves the outside more then inside but comes inside for cuddles and warmth. He’s really good with dogs but doesn’t really like other cats.

My quail are doing good today. They are such cute birds. One of my favorite parts about them is that they sometimes lay two eggs a day. So I usually get a special extra treat every few days.

I know I’m smiling for the picture but that was before I found out. I only have two girl goats now. Something got in and got one and injured my other two pretty greatly. I’m glad I was able to save two but I’m devastated about the one. It’s one of the worst days you can have on a farm is your hard work and effort for months and months just gets destroyed.

When I was doing chores yesterday my rooster was out again. This time I had mighty protector cuko to help keep the distance. He didn’t try to attack me once. Cuko was a lot better barrier between.
The chicken feeder is still doing well. The chickens still use it and it’s only gotten a little dirty other then that it’s staying together. It’s goat proof which is also very nice so the girls who sometimes get into the chickens side.
I thought you guys might want to see some chickens with Mohawks today :) my ducks in the background are doing good.
Mighty drogon follows me everywhere when doing chores. He does a good job at making my main mean rooster give me space and let me do chores without getting attacked.
I don’t know if you can tell but I think Homer has gotten a lot darker. That black used to be brown. I wonder if he’ll become more darker as he gets even older.
My rooster and protector is doing great. I love him more and more each day for protecting my hens. He doesn’t like me as much as I like him I don’t think. He’s the only rooster that try’s to attack still. Provoked or not.
It’s been a quiet time for the quail. I haven’t had any issues or problems, they all seem to be getting along great, the only thing is the egg production is still down and I think it’ll only get worse.
The only chick that survived from the broody hen is now turning more into an adult hen. She is getting bigger everyday. She fits in both with the youngest chicks and with the older laying hens. She’s right in between for size.
My one girl duck started laying eggs! The Cayuga duck can lay black - white eggs this is a perfect mix. Usually they start black and as the year progresses they get lighter.
I took a walk through the woods and I had a few loyal followers. Drogon and Cindy both followed me my whole walk along with the dogs it was a lot of fun.
Today was a beautiful day. Ned, Homer, and I spent a lot of time together. I love Ned’s little beard.
Drogon is the cat. He is the oldest cat I have. He is pretty awesome.
