ππππ π ππ ππππππππ πͺπππ πππππππ πππππβ£ β£ I highly recommend using c-stands when using natural light if you are trying to capture shadows. C-stands are collapsible poles that hold a backdrop in place. Not only are they easy to break down and put away, but theyβre also very easy to move.β£ β£ I recommend this set up because you will need to move your background and subject with the light as it continues to rise or fall. This will allow you to keep the same setting regardless of where the light is. β£ β£ For this shoot, we shot at sunrise and moved the backdrop about 3 times to maintain the shadows that I was desiring to achieve.β£ β£ Swipe β‘οΈ For the Final Edits and comment which shot is your fave β€οΈ

Open the image in raw and make any adjustments that you find necessary before continuing to edit in PhotoShop.β£ β£ 2. Drag the quick selection tool over a part of the subject - click βselect subjectβ.β£ β£ 3. Clean up any lines and click βselect & maskβ at the top.β£ β£ 4. Use the refine edge tool (second button on the left) for any parts of the background that your quick selection tool didnβt grab. β£ β£ 5. Select output to: βnew layer with layer maskβ.β£ β£ 6. Select solid color and place a colored background of your choice.β£ β£ 7. Resize image by pressing (command + T) - press enter to crop β£ β£ This is the simplest way that Iβve found to replace the background of an image or take it out completely to have a png version of your image. β£ β£ Hope this helps βΊοΈβ£

I showed you guys a little bit of my editing set up last night on my story for the cover of a single that I just shot. Today, Iβm showing you the behind the scenes in my photo studio and finished image. As you can tell, I manipulated the color of the background to to match the color of her blouse. Little details like this can make a drastic difference in how complete the final image turns out. When I am working with artists on images that will be printed at a larger scale - I always try to bring extra elements like this into play if I didnβt have a backdrop or prop that I felt was necessary during the shoot. Since I didnβt have a pink backdrop, I faked one π This can be done by altering the hues and saturation in your colors (for this one I altered the yellows since the backdrop was brown).
