✨ Saturday Thoughts - Meditation is a beautiful and whole-h..

✨ Saturday Thoughts - Meditation is a beautiful and whole-hearted embodiment of the phrase: “slow down to accelerate.” When we meditate we are stepping out of our thoughts and feelings, giving way to a greater level of awareness. For it is true that to constantly experience something, is to lose awareness of it. In the same way that you can’t see your nose because it is always there and your brain filters it out. A more complex example can be seen in humans before the discovery of gravity, how can we automatically assume the presence of gravity. It has ‘always been there’ so it ceases to exist. We accept whatever reality we are presented with. Our brain is constantly functioning to define a sense of what is ‘normal’ as we learn and grow by interacting with the world around us and its inhabitants. So to meditate, is to step out of gravity (thoughts/feelings/conscious mind) and go into space, where you have a much clearer perspective on things. You see the whole earth for what it is, a colourful marble suspended in vast darkness. When we do not meditate and are constantly trying to escape the debt of all the thoughts and feelings we do not want to deal with, we lose sight of reality; we become our thoughts and feelings, no matter how irrational or biased ❤ xx Meg

✨ Here are some tips on how to focus so you can unfocus. What you’re trying to do in a meditation is to get into a state of pure awareness, consciousness, nothingness, stillness, thoughtless. In other words – you are trying to throw all the thoughts out of your mind, all the chatter and find out what remains when it’s all gone – that’s the ultimate meaning. Focus on something simple – I found that the easiest & most effective things to focus on are: ❤ xx Meg • Your own breath • The sound of your heartbeat (you can hear it if you focus, in complete silence) • Dropping water (not rain) • The sound of a clock ticking • Physical sensations (simply become aware: I am aware of how it feels to sit on this sofa. I am aware of how the air coming in and out of my nose feels on my skin. I am aware of all the sounds I hear…) • smells

✨ Did you know daily meditation can raise your vibration? Everything vibrates. You are vibrating right now. Everything has vibration, waves and frequency. Nicola Tesla knew this very well. So we want to raise our vibration to get in a state of peace, love and positive values. This gives so much room to “positiveness” in general. It start living in a vibration of gratitude. But don’t believe me in any of this, try it yourself! 10 min a day for 21 days ❤ xx Meg

✨ Did you know that emotions are "energy in motion". Emotions are like a wave, constantly rising and falling. They’re part of a much bigger ocean worth noticing. The mistake lies with labelling an energy in motion as good or bad. If we can recognise that every feeling will pass in time, attaching a reaction is pointless. It’s pure and simply wasted energy. Instead, we must stay out of the thoughts and strengthen our observation muscle by staying with the sensations. This constant flow of reliable information (in the form of sensation) is a gateway to who you really are at the deepest level. Just for today try to observe your emotions throughout the day, what brings you joy, anger, sadness, gratitude? One of my favorite ways to release unwanted emotions is to have a dance party, shake and dance the emotion out of the body! Let's have a Saturday dance party and move some energy ❤ xx Meg

✨ Something I am reflecting on today : "When you know how to listen, everyone is the Guru" Ram Dass. In my daily pratice I try to listen more than I speak, everyone can be a teacher if you are able to just listen. By practicing mediitation you are able to quiet the mind, stay present and actually listen! Keep meditating, I am so proud of you all ❤ xx Meg

✨ Sunday thoughts : meditation is like looking at the task manager of your windows system. You get to see all the processes that maybe running in the background that you are not even consciously aware of. And then you can decide which ones you want to switch off. It might be stubborn and take time to kill the process but at least now you are aware of it. The ones that are hogging the memory and space of your life. ❤ xx Meg

✨ What is the State of Flow? It is when someone is totally immersed in the task they're doing, may that be washing the dishes, cleaning, or just taking a walk. Through meditation practice you can easily get to this place of flow so that you are more present in your day to day activities. I challenge you to entering the stae of flow during one activity today ❤ xx Meg

✨ What do you expect to acheive through meditation? By quiet..

✨ What do you expect to acheive through meditation? By quieting the mind, we become more aware of our thoughts, thoughts are words and feelings we can choose to pick up and we often get tangled in them, thinking that they define our whole being. Actually they don't. The more we create distance from negative thoughts, the less they are "you". Only out of empty spaces can we become who we are meant to be. Only out of stillness can we hear the universal message. From nothingness, that something is born. From silence, the wisdom of our being is heard. Meditation is a giving of space to our being, a state of nothingness, a state of infinite growth. Hope this resonates with you ❤ xx Meg

✨ So you may be wondering why when I meditate I hold my fingers in a certain way, well that is called "mudras". Mudras are those hand gestures that meditators hold while meditating. There are many different mudras out there and many traditions seem to have their favorites. Different traditions have different explanations, meanings, and purposes for each mudra. My go to is connecting the first finger and the thumb together, this gesture is used to improve intuition, alertness, and sensory powers. It also purifies your emotions and thoughts. What are your favorite mudras? ❤ xx Meg

🌌 Friday Thoughts : life is just a series of inhales and exhales, so just keep breathing 🙏 the faster you breathe the more erratic your thoughts and feelings will become. The slower you breathe, you allow time for processing and it balances your thoughts and emotions. So let's breath slower together ❤ xx Meg

✨ Now that we have gotten to know the how - to of meditation, we can dive a little deeper in the science of different brain waves! While meditating the goal is to get the brain into a "theta state", in this state we can actually start to heal ourselves! Here is a list of what kinds of different brain waves our brain goes through in a day. Hopefully you find this as fascinating as I do ❤ xx Meg ◾ Epsilon is associated with very high states of meditation. This is a state of out of body experiences, my favorite way to reach this state is through Holotropic Breathwork ◾ Delta is when you are in the dream state or sleeping ◾ Theta is where you are when you meditate, or when you are light sleeping ◾ Alpha is awake but calm ◾ Beta is awake and alert ◾ Gamma is the associated with learning ◾ Hyper Gamma is high level of brain organizations, common in Tibetan Monks during meditation ◾ Lambda is high level of awareness or oneness with the universe

✨ Just a HUMP day reminder, you're the entire universe expressing itself as a human for a little while. You're the orange hanging on the tree, the wave rising and falling in the ocean, the headlight on the car shining for a few minutes. All of these things are just an extension of the whole, and so are you. When we completely realize this, there is a feeling of oneness that pervades our entire conscious state. We feel at home. We realize we are the whole works. The real you never dies because the universe cannot die. The real you can never be truly limited because the universe isn't limited. Everyone you see is essentially you, and you realize you should treat them as such. Now lets spread love throughout our day, ❤ xx Meg

🌌 I just started to get trained in sound healing and am so excited to add it to my meditations! If you're wondering what sound healing is, it's the idea of healing the body through different hertz frequencies! How fascinating right!! In this photo I am playing the 228 hertz sound bowl, this helps heal feelings of guilt, fear or trauma. Maybe I'll do a video of me playing it and let you see decide how you feel. 😉 xx Meg

✨ Mondays are a great time to start a weekly affirmation! What are affirmations you may wonder? Affirmations are a self-help strategy used to promote self-confidence and belief in your own abilities. You have probably used affirmations in your life with out even knowing. Regular repetition of affirming statements about yourself can encourage your brain to take these positive affirmations as fact. When you truly believe you can do something, your actions often follow. Once I started using affirmations my life changed dramatically! This week I am using "Everything is always working out for me", when I am running late because of traffic, I repeat "Everything is always working out for me." These small shifts in the mind can make HUGE impacts! Enjoy your week ❤ xx Meg

✨ So we have almost been stuck inside for a year, if you are feeling as lonely as I do sometimes, here are some ways to connect to yourself ❤ xx Meg ◾ practice self love, this may be taking a bubble bath, or trying a new hobby ◾ learn to live in the moment, the past is just a set of our memories, while the future belongs to our imagination, the only moment we have is right here, right now ◾ give mindful yoga a try, bringing mindful awareness to any physical activity creates an alert focus to whatever you are doing in that exact moment ◾ acknowledge your feelings, embrace your feelings. Doing so can give you power over your emotions ◾ take a break from social media, even if its an hour a day

✨ One of my biggest struggles when I started to meditate was how to stay present during the meditation. Our minds are blazingly fast, and you can jump from thing to thing more than once a second, this is why meditation is such a powerful tool to become a superhuman! I put 100% focus into my two breaths, and I treat that as the barrier between my regular and meditative states. When I feel myself leaving the present, I take my two breaths and enter it once again. Counting the breath brings you back to your breath. Acknowledging that your mind has wandered and then coming back to your breath is the easiest way to stay present, as you continue to practice I promise it gets easier and soon you'll be sitting in a 30 minute mediation like its nothing 😉 xx Meg
