Over the past week, I've been experiencing some health issues that have made it difficult for me to do new audios. My oxygen levels have been dipping into the 80s, which left me feeling quite unwell and unable to even sit up for long. Everything, even getting up to use the restroom, became a challenge and I didn't want to subject you all to even more gaspy content by trying to record through it lmao.
I've received many DMs from you all, and I want you to know that I appreciate each and every message. I didn't have the energy to reply individually and didn't want to send a generic response to everyone like some uncaring corp but then that leaves me leaving people on read until Im better and that feels bad too. I care, I really do, even if I struggle to show it when Im going through stuff, so thank you all very much for your concern, it means a lot.
I always feel guilty when production slows down because I never want you all to think I'm slacking off. Even while I was unwell, I was writing scripts since I could type lying down on my phone. I'm trying, guys. I don't like to complain because you're here for content, not for complaints. But when production gets interrupted, I feel you have a right to know what's going on. Communication is key, yadda yadda ♥
I did go to the hospital to get checked out, but they did an EKG and found it wasn't a heart attack so they sent me home, suggesting that unless I wanted to check for a collapsed lung or had another test in mind, there wasn't much they could do. I don’t know what tests are available or which would be useful so obviously, I was at a loss and sent home w/ a Xanax in case it was anxiety. (It wasn’t but I had no idea what to try.)
The good news is that this, whatever it is, happens on a cycle so far and I'm feeling better now an

I hope you're all doing great! So, here's the deal—I've been doing some thinking. I love bringing our favorite characters to life but lately, I've been REALLY into making longer (20-30 min) brand new characters and storylines. (Those in the early access tier can attest to that lmao) I’ve also been commissioning new artwork for single scenes/scripts, not just ones that I think will be useful in multiple thumbnails. Basically, just growing beyond the typical types of content I make here.
Don't get me wrong, I adore the characters we've built together. But I've been feeling stagnant in some of their stories after 6-15+ chapters even though I have things I want to do with them.
I still have other characters I want to get to like the mimic and there's a cute crow girl I haven't been able to record yet, and a really sweet broken mindflayer and just oh, so many ideas!
But when I have to use up all my creativity to push through writer’s block to write scripts I’m not really passionate about right now, I'm worried that if I keep going down that path, the quality and passion in those audios and others might not hold up.
That doesn’t mean I’ll never update the named stories again. Right now, I’m halfway through the next Renka script, but pushing out only 5 minutes worth of script after spending so long staring at a blank page just to give up and pass out is just soul crushing.
So, here's my plan: I'm gonna take a little break from our named characters (or at least the ones that get voted for.) Don't worry, you'll still get your dose of Renka for a few more months—we're way ahead on that. But after that, I'm thinking of diving into some fresh, stand-alone stories. I also have several collabs I'm working on and I just am really passionate about this section of my work right now so I hope you can relish that excitement with me.
