I could speak for days on body armor, and I think I will. It is so important to know the different types of body armor out there available and what they protect from. First of all, there is no such thing as "bullet-proof" Because there is always going to be a bigger round to shoot. There is soft armor and hard armor. Here I'm wearing a Level 3+ body armor inside of a plate carrier. This body armor is hard to the touch, made of ceramic or steel. I only buy and use ceramic as steel plates tend to send "frag" up when the plate is hit with a round. So imagine taking a round to the chest, and the Round breaks up and all the metal fragments hits your throat, chin, and face. No thank you. Body armor is important for self-defense because it provides enhanced protection and confidence, shielding vital areas and reducing the risk of injury. It going to allow an individual to face potentially life-threatening situations with a higher level of resilience. Considering the threat levels one may encounter is crucial when selecting body armor, as it offers varying levels of protection against firearms, blades, or blunt force impacts. This is where it's important to know the capabilities of hard vs soft armor and the different levels of each. Comfort and mobility are key factors, ensuring that body armor allows ease of movement during engagements. Concealability and versatility provide the advantage of surprise and the ability to blend into surroundings. Proper fit and sizing are vital for optimal performance, while durability and longevity ensure reliable protection over time. Understanding legal considerations and adhering to local regulations is essential. Overall, body armor is a critical component of self-defense, providing an extra layer of protection and peace of mind in potentially dangerous situations. Overall, most people won't NEED body armor, for my work in the military and my current line of work, I need it every day. However, I believe body armor is the type of tool you would rather have and never use, than not have and wish you had it. Think of if shit hits the fan tomorrow, you're going to wish you had body armor. Especially level 4 plates that can protect against almost all rounds that civilians will have... except for a 50 cal ;) Stay Lethal, and get some body armor. -Defensive Tactics
