Alongside several other monuments, the Niederwalddenkmal is one of Germany's monumental memorials from the time of the German Empire and has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley since 2002. In addition to the figure of Germania enthroned at the top, the high relief below the plinth is particularly impressive, showing 133 life-size figures.
