I told my girl about my foot fetish early on in our relationship. At first, she thought I was joking, but when she realized I was serious, she was kind of surprised. She wasn’t grossed out or anything, but she definitely didn’t understand why I liked feet so much.
For the first few years, she never really indulged me. She would let me rub her feet sometimes, but I could tell she wasn’t really into it. But then, out of nowhere, she started making small efforts—wearing cute ankle bracelets, painting her toes bright colors, and even propping her feet up on my lap while we were watching TV. One night, she asked, “So, what exactly do you like about feet?” That’s when I knew she was at least trying to understand.
Now, she still teases me about it, but in a playful way. She’ll jokingly wiggle her toes in my face or pretend to be offended when I don’t compliment her new nail polish. She doesn’t fully get it, but she loves me enough to make an effort, and honestly, that means more to me than anything.
