Spring is at all it's blooming colors... 😍 Wish you amazing .... and here comes another German word: Bergfest or Bergtag... This surprisingly short word describes a day in the middle of working week. Like you know, it was hill up so far, from now only hill down to the weekend! Berg means the "hill", Tag means the "day" so literally (as always in German) Hillday.
Not to be confused with Brückentag, which is a day you get free in Germany if for example Thursday is holiday, so you get free Friday to connect with the Weekend. Then Brückentag is the Friday.
Usage can be following: "Bergtag kommt diesmal schon am Dienstag dank Freitag ist ja Brückentag!" Translated: Hillday is this time Tuesday, because Friday is a Bridgeday! This would be your "casual" watercooler chat with your strictly business colleagues. In Germany you are only allowed to chat casually about business related things otherwise you get shot in the leg. So this is about as casual as it gets. Cheekily free time related, yet business relevant.
