**New York Chronicles** π *part 1* πΈ 1: Big Bar, which is my friendβs local so we frequented it 3 or 4 times. I loved the bar scene in New York and the intimate feeling of knowing the bartenders and them knowing you, as well as having the placed filled with familiar faces πΈ 2: The New Amsterdam theatre, where we went to see the Lehman Trilogy, a three-act play by Italian novelist and playwright Stefano Massini. It presents the story of Lehman Brothers, from their beginnings as cotton brokers before the Civil War to the company's involvement in the financial crisis of 2008. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I thought everything from the casting to the staging was smartly done and the writing was catchy. πΈ 3-5: Sparks, our dinner that night. This is where I learned that itβs not only portions that are big in America, itβs the food itself. A few days before flying I watched a video of this English girl living in New York and she was appalled by the size of the chicken thighs. And I heard a few other stories about things being big (e.g. apples, tomatoes) but nothing prepared for me size of these fucking oysters π¦ͺ donβt get me wrong, i do love oysters, but that somehow just felt wrong π₯² like why make oysters meatier? Do you know of anyone who actually cares how much nutritional value theyβre getting from an oyster? Like you donβt need there to be more of it? If anything you want it looking like a delicate food. it just felt wrongβ¦ the tuna too, but that wasnβt such a big issue π πΈ6-7: Key Lime Pie π₯§ from John's of 12th Street with an unholy (and also the only correct) amount of whipped cream π¦ absolute sex π₯΅ πΈ8: that good good πΏ because one of the first things my friend did on my first day he fed me and he took me to his dispensary π₯° and thatβs real love for you βΊοΈ *Do you want to see a **part II**?*
