👑 Back at my old club in Atlanta, the staff nicknamed me “Vampire Queen” because I often went to work as Akasha from Queen of the Damned and performed a strip version of her. Every day I would bring a different vibe to this club. As fun as it was, you would be surprised as to the reactions I would get. The staff and the women were absolutely enamored by me… but the male customers were mostly very intimidated and struggled to even make eye contact with me. They would watch me on stage and barely tip let alone get dances from me. I didn’t make very much money, but I did make some epic memories!
On this night that I managed to get some BTS footage, I was very frustrated because it was my debut of Akasha and I unfortunately forgot the main spiked Akasha headpiece from the diy headdress I crafted. It’s such a distinct piece that really defines Akasha in my opinion and as the entertainer that I am, presentation and especially a debut means everything to me. It was still a great look regardless, but as usual, I would find myself spending too much time outside uncomfortable smoking, because no one would talk to me except the staff. I even would end up taking off the head pieces and “dumbing down” the look by the final hours just to be able to make any amount of money. I truly felt like maybe I was throwing pearls to swine most nights. 🤦♀️
