Our city has been completely isolated for days since Helene and they’re saying it could be weeks until we get power back. I’ve got food, water and a campfire so y’all know I’m good. Gonna start looking at where I can volunteer to help cleanup tmrw. Western NC is not ok though, keep us in your thoughts please, this is the worst natural disaster we’ve ever had. Literally broke all the historic records from 1916. Towns completely washed away, wide sections of cities completely underwater, major roads completely gone, stores empty or closed. A lot of looting from closed stores. No gas, water, power and very VERY spotty service when we do get it. I’m safe though and I have awesome neighbors that have been inviting me to eat when they can. This is going to have some serious long term effects on our area.
