PAIN, PLEASURE, CONTROL ---- Bending backwards over somethin..

PAIN, PLEASURE, CONTROL ---- Bending backwards over something (a pillow let's say) is a glorious to spend some time ;) How many reasons can you think of? I mean, can you list the benefits one might receive from this kind of pose? And yes, pinching nipples is most definitely an official yoga technique in the tradition of enhancing pain tolerance. According to Google, "Regularly practicing yoga may make a person more aware of their mind and body, and may decrease some responses to pain. A review in Complementary Therapies in Medicine notes that people who regularly practice yoga have a higher pain tolerance." and shall we say a bit more about pain and pleasure? Have you found in your bedroom, on your yoga mat, in your gym, in your running shoes that the line between pain and pleasure blurs. There comes a moment when these two blend, as if they are conjoined twins experiencing life from two minds in one body. We know they're different and we wonder how different when they seem to be feeling the same thing. Perhaps that's a bizarre comparison? I agree with Tony Robbins who said, "The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you. If you do that, you're in control of your life. If you don't, life controls you." Pain, pleasure and control.... oh these concepts I fiddle with as I lie on my back. Does my yoga practice bring me so much control over my body that it becomes a real challenge to release that control sometimes in moments of sensuality? Yes. To be in control of letting go of control. Thoughts, gentlemen? ;)
