Tattoo Tuesday! Man am I excited for this new series!!! & I have 12 tattoos to tell you about!!!
Every single one has a meaning & we’ll spend our Tuesdays talking about them till we run out of ink 😏
🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Today I’m starting with my biggest tattoo, my big sunflower tattoo, & it was completed in 2017, on my couch in my living room in the first house we ever bought by a family friend! It wasn’t my first tattoo, but it’s the piece I’m choosing first since it’s my biggest & reminds me of where I came from! Kansas!
The day this was done was also the day my husband did his first tattoos ever, & on me! He picked it up as a little hobby after we took so much interest in everything while our friends were at the house! Those will come next Tuesday. 🥰
Sunflowers are of my favorite flowers, & the five of them represent the members in my family (myself, husband, & three kids) & also the sunflower state- Kansas- where I was born, raised, lived 18 years, attended all K-12 classes at the same district (Then a tornado destroyed my whole town the year I graduated) met my husband & married my husband! I also had my daughter (in the same hospital I was born at) & second baby here (without my husband as he left to deploy for a year during this pregnancy. So I went back to Kansas in the middle of it with my little girl to give birth).
I love this piece because anyone who knows me knows I’m a minimalist & I love line work more than anything. Just lines that draw a photo that allow me to tell a story when people ask me about them. & I think it’s so simply beautiful.
I wanted “vintage” looking sunflowers & I think they’re perfect.
Not too much effort, simple, unique, & one of a kind, like me 🌻
If you didn’t know- Sunflowers became the Kansas state flower March 13, 1903.
