A lavender love affair π
People usually associate lavender with two specific traits: its fragrance and its color! But you may not know that the lavender flower and the oil derived from it have long histories in herbal medicine.
The word lavender comes from the Latin root βlavare,β which literally means βto wash.β The earliest recorded use of lavender dates back to ancient Egypt. There, lavender oil played a role in the mummification process π€―
My favorite is dried lavender flowers for its multitude of benefits and uses. The flowers contain vitamins, antioxidants and cleansing properties which improve skin health. They have a strong floral scent that is relaxing and calming and is perfect to make sachets, floral bath water or in a soap recipe to add exfoliation!! πππ
