The fight was matched for 57kg which is a weight division above my own at 52kg. My opponent came in 5kg over the limit, 5.1kg to be accurate. Not only did they weigh in 5kg over they also refused to cut any weight. I'm so annoyed that they would have taken a flight paid for by the promoter James Price knowing that they are so far over the weight limit. After negotiations between my team Ronin MMA Gym Birmingham, the promoter Mma Battle Arena & Her team we still couldn't come to an agreement of her weighing in on the day at 62kg. Not only have they wasted James's time and money but they've ruined my progression for this year. The hours put in by myself, my coaches, my team mates and the support of all the people in the gym has been written off due to the lack of discipline & respect for the sport and the people in it. I can't believe someone so experienced in the sport with so many fights under big promotions would act this way. I'm sorry to everyone that has helped me and supported me these last months and through out my career. I hope 2023 can have a more positive outcome.
