Most of the time, when I have a little history lesson to offer I just do a brief Google scholar fact check to make sure I’ve got the details right. According to Google AI, the history of hot chocolate is from “The Middle Ages when firewood logs looked decorative and began taking on a chocolately taste.” I can assure you that is not, in fact, where hot chocolate and its association with Christmas comes from but it was too outrageous so now you’ll just have to wonder what the actual history was.
