Break time, quick lunch, back to work. I have to decompress a min and contemplate my morning mtgs, then decide my priority order. A lot more potential VCs suggested to talk to. One, totally random, had reached out me and I thought “why? I’ve never talked to them, I don’t know anyone who knows them?” but also knew that VCs will share info with each other so maybe someone I did talk to had mentioned me to them at the golf country club or wherever they hang out
But no, it was indeed totally random. They were a VC raising their next fund and basically cold calling potential prospects to give them money for their VC fund😂. It I told him no, since my ace-in-the-hole in MY negotiations with VCs if they wanted to strong arm me or maybe just weren’t interested is “…I may fund this myself, and then we are leaving the station, because this IS happening”
To inspire them to “think different”. Don’t wanna miss out, now do they?
Anyway, I changed the VC pitch call to “can’t place money now, but hey! Here’s a pitch deck. Toss it over the wall to the investor team”. I know that’s super low probability there as I don’t know these people, but you never know when someone is exactly at that moment looking for exactly that investment
That’s just sales. That’s all sales.
