Added 2024-12-09 22:14:25 +0000 UTCSorry, I had to take a couple of weeks off but I'm back. Probably not going to post any full videos in December (but I have several already planned for January!), but I'll be around! And I will definitely post some stuff here on OF. Just trying to have a quiet December. Anyway, I know many of you like to hear about my cinema escapades, so here's a little round-up of all the films I watched at the cinema in November! Feel free to let me know what you've seen lately in the comments! I'll do one of these every month if you guys like it :) xxx
Anora - Loved it! Laughed and cried so much. I really enjoyed Sean Baker's last film as well (Red Rocket). Both great films centred around sex workers, presented in a really balanced and beautiful way.
Juror #2 - Never been so out of sync with the general consensus before in my life (that's such a lie, I absolutely fucking hated Dune and Dune 2). I thought this was absolute trash. Interesting premise, great cast, but the execution was just horrendous for me personally. Although I must say, I'm not even 30 and I can barely scrape together a 15 minute porn video, making an entire movie at 94 years old is very impressive!
Heretic - Decent, Hugh Grant was great, but it just didn't commit hard enough. I found it too wishy-washy, and not scary at all.
Gladiator II - Absolutely pointless, I got nothing from this that I wouldn't have got by just rewatching the original. I disliked it.
Paddington in Peru - Cried my eyes out. Not as good as the first two but highly enjoyable.
Wicked - Fine. Not as bad as I expected, colour grading horrible, singing good, Ariana Grande great. Very...I don't know? Commercial?
And if I'm allowed to add recently released streaming movies that I watched in November (all available on Netflix):
It's What's Inside - SO FUN! I would recommend this to pretty much anyone, it's just a classic, funny, thrilling little bottle movie. One for my body swap fetishists ;)
Emilia Perez - Unbelievably awful, but you have to respect that they absolutely WENT for it!
The Piano Lesson - A great lesson in what NOT to do when adapting from the stage to the screen. Really disliked it.
