Due to the fact that so many elves were able to start earlier this year, they're nearly done doing all the gifts. The workshop is a merry little place and the tension in the air that usually lingers is replaced by the smell of a little too much eggnog. The cute girl elf that was in your workshop is having a good time herself and even though you've only exchanged a couple words, you really feel like this is the time to put yourself out there.
